New group
LEWISTON – A DivorceCare Recovery Support Group will start on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Vineyard Church, 9 Foss Road. It will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for 13 weeks. Call 784-9500 to register. The cost will be a workbook fee of $15. The course is free. Childcare will be provided free.
Rotary speaker
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will meet at noon Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Ramada Inn. Members will learn more about Healthy Androscoggin from its executive director, Angela Cole Westhoff. Anyone wishing to hear the speaker or to learn more about Rotary is welcome. Weekly buffet luncheons are $8 a person.
Dance classes
LEWISTON – Irish ceili and set dance classes will be offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24 at St. Patrick’s Hall, corner Walnut and Blake streets.
Cost is $3 a session. No partner is needed; beginners are welcome. For more information, call 933-9761.
Bridge winners
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on Sept. 26 were: first, Ron Reynolds and Ray Sirois; second, Lucille Bilodeau and Luke Merry; third, first in B and C, Claire Tewhey and Charles Bartlett; fourth, second in B, Maryta Clements and Nancy Farmer; fifth, Anna Vitiello and Roger Briggs; third in B, Janice Wolfe and Cynthia Bonsey; second in C, Marlene and Conrad Violette.
Games are played at 9 a.m. every Monday, a mini-lesson is given, and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 783-1734 for more information.
Bridge play
NEW GLOUCESTER – The New Gloucester Bridge Club met Sept. 25 at the Masonic Building, corner of Routes 100 and 231 where a 4 amd 1/2 table Howell movement was played.
Finishing first in flight A were Lucille Theriault and David Lock; second, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry; third, Pat Schlegel and Sally Johnston, who also finished first in flight C. Finishing first in flight B were Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry with Pat Schlegel and Sally Johnston second.
Another game will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2. A partner is guaranteed.
