MEXICO – The Region 9 Learning Center, 377 River Road, announces the following classes:
“Beginning Welding”: Learn the basic skills using a Miller 250 amp welder, an AC/DC welder and the Idealarc SP250 MIG welder. Limited to five students. The seven-week class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting Oct. 4, at the Region 9 Welding Lab. Tuition is $225; lab fee $30; text $6; and the instructor, Pete Barlow.
“Intro to Microsoft Word and Excel”: Learn how to set up a Word document and the elements that go into setting up a research paper and a resume. Also learn the basics on creating and editing a worksheet in Excel using formulas and inserting charts. The eight-week class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, starting Sept. 29, at the Region 9 Learning Center. Tuition is $40 and the instructor is Tom Pelletier.
“Second Steps in Watercolor”: The class is designed for artists who have a basic or limited skill level in watercolor and would like to expand their knowledge of the medium. Entry level artists are welcome to join the class as well.
Supply lists may also be picked up from the Adult Ed office. Some materials will be supplied. The seven-week class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, starting Oct. 25, at the Region 9 Learning Center. The class instructor is Kay Seefeldt and the tuition is $35 plus a $4 lab fee payable to the instructor on the first evening of the class.
