LEWISTON – Nancy Gipson, Procter and Gamble/Tambrands plant manager, and Cindy Biesecker, human resources manager, have presented a $5,000 gift to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Journey of Hope Campaign for the new hospice house.

“We are pleased to be able to support AHCH in their important effort to impact so many lives in our community at such a special way,” said Biesecker.

The 14-patient suite Hospice House, opening Nov. 1, is specially designed to care for the needs of patients in the final weeks of life when hospice care at home is no longer possible.

To date, the Journey of Hope Campaign has received support from more than 1,600 individuals, foundations, businesses and civic and fraternal groups.

“Procter and Gamble/Tambrands has been in this community for nearly four decades and, through the years, has shown a real commitment to those organizations and projects that will have a positive impact on the lives of their employees,” stated Kim Wettlaufer, capital campaign chairman. “We are honored they chose to support the Journey of Hope Campaign that will bring the first in-patient hospice facility to Maine.”
