LEWISTON – La Rencontre will begin meeting for its third season at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the Franco-American Heritage Center at St. Mary’s, Oxford and Cedar streets.

People gather to speak only French for about two hours, giving a chance to speak and practice the French language. The program begins with a meal followed by a musical French program.

This month’s meal will feature lobster rolls, pickles, chips, cookies and beverage, and the entertainment will be provided by members of the group “Just Us.” The price is $6.50.
