HARTFORD – John Cleveland of Community Dynamics Construction gave a presentation Thursday night to the Board of Selectmen on a proposed salt and sand shed.

Board Chairman David Bowen questioned the need for a building to house 3,700 cubic yards. Bob Calawa of the Road Committee said he would provide information on how much salt and sand had been used on winter roads in the past, for selectmen to review.

Cleveland said Community Dynamics would help selectmen choose the style, design, site preparation, testing, foundation needs, carpentry, lighting and paving needs.

Bowen said he wanted to compare other companies before making a decision.

The winter snow-plowing contract was discussed at length. Selectmen agreed that some increase may have to be made due to the high cost of fuel but didn’t agree to the 10 percent increase the Budget Committee had recommended.

They took no action.

The board accepted the resignation of Dan Irvine of the Ordinance Committee but took no action on new appointments.

Leslie Boness and Peggy Poskus were appointed ballot clerks.

Selectman Lee Holman presented a draft of a lending policy for the Town Hall tables and chairs. Revisions will be made, and the board will vote on approval at its next meeting.

The board approved sending Town Clerk Lianne Bedard to a municipal law workshop.
