Society speaker
CARTHAGE – The Carthage Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, for a potluck supper.
Following a short business meeting, Robert Payne of Carthage will tell about his recent trip to South America with the National Geographic Society. It is open to the public.
Seniors meet
LIVERMORE FALLS – Livermore Falls and Jay Seniors Citizens met at Murray Hall on Oct. 10 with 36 members present. Chairwoman Shirley Couture led the meeting.
Lorraine Ellingwood was welcomed back, and there were two guest present, Jordan and Austin Couture, grandsons of Shirley and Aureline Couture. Shirley Couture reported that Emile Richard has been ill. The 50/50 was won by Jim Miller.
The monthly beano game will be held next week for those members interested. A Chinese auction and cards followed the meeting.

FARMINGTON – The Colonel Moses Chandler House will host a pre-Christmas show and sale of works by new photographer Carole Edgerly and watercolors by Selina Shields from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.
