PORTLAND – Earl B. Fuller, 80, a resident of Pleasant Street, Livermore Falls, died Sunday, Oct. 16, at Maine Medical Center, where he had been a patient for three weeks following a short illness.

He was born in Jay on Oct. 5, 1925, the son of Nelson and Florence Whynot Fuller. He was a member of the Livermore Falls High School Class of 1943.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed in the Pacific Theater during the Leyete invasion of the Philippines.

On July 17, 1946, he married Joann Crosson.

He worked for International Paper Co. in Jay from 1943, at the Otis Mill and in 1964, was transferred to the Androscoggin Mill for the start-up of No. 1 and 2 paper machines. He later worked on the No. 3 paper machine as a machine tender until his retirement in 1988.

He was a member of the IP Quarter Century Club, a life member of VFW, Frank L. Mitchell, Post 3335 of Jay and of UPIU, Local 14.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He always kept busy and enjoyed working.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years of Livermore Falls; a son, Eric Fuller of Jay; three daughters, Shirley Sanders and her husband, Dick, of Leeds, Sheryl Ostrow of Bangor, and Kerry Labbe and her husband, Alan, of Jay; four granddaughters, Alanna Sanders, Heidi Brunton and her husband, Anthony, Katherine Tromp and her husband, Daniel, and Melinda Kennedy and her husband, Michael; a grandson, Bradford Ostrow; three brothers, Maurice Fuller and his wife, Rita, of Jay, Herbert Fuller and his wife, Vivian, of Inverness, Fla., and Zelmon Fuller of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Jennie Hoops and her husband, Francis, of Bradenton, Fla., and Zara Briggs and her husband, Henry, of Yarmouth; and several special nieces and nephews.
