Fall festival
LEWISTON – Local evangelical churches have planned a children’s fall festival celebrating God’s harvest from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Kennedy Park.
Children ages 3 through 10 may join festivities that will include games, crafts, candy and prizes at the tent. Activities will include a balloon stomp, football toss, beanbag toss, lollipop tree, penny drop, fishing game, duck pond and other games. A washable tattoo booth and craft table with three age-specific crafts will be available for children. A puppet show will also highlight the community event.

Antiques show
MANCHESTER – Manchester Grange 172 will sponsor a Fall Antiques and Collectibles Show and Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Manchester Grange Hall, Route 202.
No reproductions are allowed, and 30 dealers will participate with booths on both levels of the hall, including six new dealers.
Homecooked hamburg vegetable soup, sandwiches, pies and bars will be provided by members of the Grange.
Proceeds benefit the charitable donations and scholarships given by the Grange. Admission is $1.50.
Special night
LISBON – Lisbon Community School will hold a special evening on Monday, Oct. 24. It will include a short speech by Auburn Mayor Normand Guay, French music, songs and a dance performed by students. The reading and translating of “Olivia,” which is written in French, will be presented.
Tables for rent
LEWISTON – Lewiston Senior Citizens will hold a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 3 and 4, at the Seniors Activities Room, Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. Tables are available to rent for $10. Call 784-2926, ext. 207, for more information.
Appraisal day
NEW GLOUCESTER – An antique appraisal day will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, in the vestry of the First Congregational Church, corner of Route 231 and Gloucester Hill Road. Suggested donation is $5 an item, three items a turn. Proceeds will benefit the “Save The Ceiling” fund. Appraisals will be done by the Cyr Auction House. Club president
AUBURN – David Chamberland, a senior at St. Dominic Regional High School, is serving his second year as Chess Club president. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Chamberlain of Lewiston. Chamberland is also active in mock trial, the math team and many other extracurricular and scholastic activities.
Bridge results
NEW GLOUCESTER – The New Gloucester Bridge Club met Oct. 16 at the Masonic Hall, intersection of Routes 100 and 231.
Winners were: Flight A, first, Luke Merry and Richard Balian tied with Martine Begert and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Nini Kivus and David Lock.
Flight B, first, Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements; second, Janice Wolfe and Roger Briggs.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Oct. 17 were: N/S, first, Richard Allen and Richard Balian; second/third tie, Rosemarie Goodwin and Roger Briggs with Janice Wolfe and Cynthia Bonsey, first in B; second in B, Betty and Doug Sise.
E/W, first/second tie, Lucille Bilodeau and Luke Merry with Renette and Joe Reinhardt; third, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird.
