LEWISTON – The Rev. Herbert G. Weeks, 87, of Turner Street, Auburn, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Portsmouth, N.H., on May 1, 1918, the son of Edward A. and Hilda Gillespie Weeks. He attended Tufts University and obtained undergraduate and divinity degrees at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.
He faithfully served his congregations in Guilford, Waterville and Westbrook, Maine, Milford, Mass., North Adams, Mass., and lastly in West Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Gerrish of Auburn, whom he married July 8, 1945; a daughter, Arlyn Weeks and her companion, Dr. Forrest Foreman, of Scarborough; a son, E. Jonathan Weeks and his wife, Catherine, of Waterville; three sisters, Hilda, Ruth and Ida Weeks; and two brothers, Arthur and Donnon Weeks.
He was predeceased by sisters, Barbara and Margery; and brothers, Bradley and Russell.
