PARIS – The Friends of Norway Memorial Library will sponsor a forum discussion on “Plum Creek’s Development Plan for the Moosehead Lake Region” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Western Maine University Center in South Paris.

Moderated by Richard A. Bennett, panelists will include Catherine Carroll, director of Maine Land Use Regulation Commission, Mark Scarano, co-chairman of the Coalition to Preserve and Grow Northern Maine, and Diano Circo, North Woods Policy Advocate, Natural Resources Council of Maine.

In April Plum Creek Land Co. and Plum Creek Maine Timberlands LLC submitted to the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission a petition called a “concept plan,” to rezone 426,000 acres of its land in the Moosehead Lake region.

The forum will focus on providing information about the proposal, the process that is in place to review and assess the plan and the issues that concern those who favor and oppose it. There will be time to ask questions.

All are invited. For more information, contact the Norway Memorial Library at 743-5309.
