On Fri. Sept. 29, the junior high students at St. Peter and Sacred Heart School, went to the former St. Mary’s Church now the Franco American Heritage Center in Lewiston, to see the Maine Chamber Ensemble.
They were playing from Franz Josephs Hayden’s, Symphony No. 104 in D Major. A chamber orchestra is an orchestra with strings and other instruments. They had all different kinds of instruments: Violas, Violins, French Horns, percussion, and many more.
Mrs. Vaillancourt, our instrument teacher, played in the orchestra. Mrs. Vaillancourt played her favorite instrument, the Viola. She was very pleased to see us there.
The students were happy to see this wonderful piece. This is what they thought: Dana an eighth grader said, “It was great”. Adam Meservier a seventh grader said, “It was cool and fun.” Nicole Levesque a sixth grader said, “It was educational and fun.” This was exciting and fun for all the junior high students.
