Lindsay Ann Turnbull of Canton, a junior in the Veterinary Technology Program at Mt. Ida College, Newton, Mass., has been on the dean’s list each semester since beginning college in the fall of 2003. Lindsay runs cross country and sings in the Mt. Ida chorus. When not in school, Lindsay works as a part-time veterinary assistant for Dr. Kent at the Countryside Animal Hospital in Rumford. A 2003 graduate of Dirigo High School, Lindsay is the daughter of Robert and Mitzie Turnbull of Canton.

Elizabeth Mitchell, a freshman at Connecticut College, is a volunteer for the Kids, Books & Athletics (KBA) program. Mitchell volunteers through the Office of Volunteers for Community Service (OVCS) at Connecticut College. OVCS plays a key role in teaching students about community engagement and the best practices of participation. Mitchell, a 2005 graduate of Edward Little High School, is the daughter of Barbara and Wylie Mitchell of Auburn.

New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, RI, has announced the names of individuals who have been accepted and have begun their studies in the college’s Fall, 2005 classes. They are as follows: Michel Bernier of Auburn, Mechanical Engineer AS; Jeremy Farr of Auburn, automotive collision repair; Peter Richard of Rumford, advanced automotive tech.

CASTINE – The following Midshipmen, were recently sworn in as members of the Marine Maritime Academy Regiment of Midshipman at a ceremony held earlier this fall during the college’s annual Family Weekend. The midshipmen oath was administered to the 140 candidates by Captain Jeff Loustaunau, Commandant of Midshipmen and Port Captain, marking the successful conclusion of Regimental Preparatory Training (RPT) for the Class of 2009.
