PORTLAND (AP) – A security video supports law enforcement authorities’ conclusion that there was no foul play in the disappearance and drowning of a Massachusetts woman in Portland Harbor.
The video provided by Casco Bay Lines shows a woman believed to be Lynn Moran walking alone onto the Maine State Pier but does not show her leaving, said Lt. Vern Malloch of the Portland Police Department.
Three weeks later, her body was recovered near the same pier on Monday. Her death was ruled an accidental drowning.
Moran, a 24-year-old social worker from Shrewsbury, Mass., was a visiting friends and family in Portland when she went missing.
She disappeared on Oct. 10 after drinking in Portland’s Old Port. The last confirmed sighting was at 10:30 p.m. when she left Sangillo’s Tavern and walked away in the direction of the waterfront, police said.
