BURLINGTON, Vt. – Robert F. MacDougall, 84, of Melrose, died at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Vt., on Nov. 6.

He was born and raised in Melrose, Mass., and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1938.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a foreman for Kyanize Paints in Everett, Mass., for 48 years.

He lived in Everett, Mass., for 16 years, Melrose, Mass., for 42 years and was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield, Mass., for many years.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary W. (Shine) MacDougall for 60 years; loving father of David R. MacDougall and his wife, Carlene, of New Hampshire, and Robert G. MacDougall of Melrose, Mass.; devoted father of Matthew, Stephen W. MacDougall and his wife, Irene, of Maine, and Rosemary L. Goudreau and her husband, Roger, of North Andover, Mass.; caring brother of Bernard MacDougall of Melrose, Mass., and the late Emma Donovan and Hector “Tom” MacDougall; and cherished grandfather of Robert and John Goudreau, Ryan, Jarrid and Matthew MacDougall. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
