PORTLAND (AP) – Zenon Konopka scored twice and Mike Wall had a shutout through 41 minutes as the Portland Pirates trounced the Springfield Falcons 5-1 Friday in the American Hockey League.

Dustin Penner collected a pair of assists for the Pirates (10-3-0-0), who won their fourth straight.

The Pirates took commanding 4-0 lead into the second intermission. Konopka scored on the power play 4:32 into the first period and Geoff Peters made it 2-0 with 3:32 remaining.

After Shane Hynes sent the Pirates up 3-0 at 3:18 of the second, Jordan Smith netted his first professional goal at 18:09.

Jim Campbell scored the only goal for Springfield (6-4-1-2) at 1:09 of the third period, but Konopka answered for the Pirates at 3:36. Wall made 21 saves. His best was against Campbell on a breakaway at 11:05 of the third.
