TOGUS – John J. Fraser, 78, formerly of 79 Maine Ave., Rumford, died on Nov. 17 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was born on May 25, 1927, in Rumford, the son of Eugene and Florence (Larmey) Fraser. John attended Rumford schools.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club.
He was a retired machinist from the Oxford Paper Co. in Rumford.
He was survived by two sisters, Dorothy Fraser, Joan Watson and husband, Robert, both of Rumford; daughter, Carol Poulin of Lewiston; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
