LEWISTON – Jeannette R. Langlais, 72, of Sabattus, died Friday morning at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side, following a battle with lymphoma.

Jeannette was born in Lewiston on Oct. 25, 1933, the daughter of Odilon and Marie Larochelle Blais. She attended Lewiston schools and graduated with the Class of 1953.

On Aug. 8, 1953, she married the love of her life, Eugene R. Langlais, in Lewiston at Holy Cross Church.

She was self-employed as an Avon representative and later worked at Maine Electronics.

Jeannette was the proud daughter of a family owned business, Blais Dairy. Among her interests were garage sales and her weekly flea markets. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, including her famous whoopie pies, chicken stew, chocolate-chip cookies, crepes, French toast and, of course, her caramels. She was a sports enthusiast.

Jeannette’s greatest pleasure in life, however, was spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She will be sadly missed but always remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Eugene Langlais of Sabattus; two daughters, Janice Langlais of Lewiston and Lisa and her husband, Richard Blanchard, of Melbourne, Fla.; one son, Gerry Langlais of Lewiston; grandchildren, Laurie Langlais of Boston, Audrey Langlais of Portland, Brian Langlais of Lewiston, Kayla and Kameron Koss of Lewiston and Chelsea and Courtney Blanchard of Florida; two sisters, Solange Croteau of Lewiston and Muriel Lagasse Blais of Lewiston; and her favorite dog, Butch.

She was predeceased by one brother, Egide Blais; two sisters, Yvette Blais and Theresa Murphy; and her daughter-in-law, Diane Langlais.
