PHOENIX (AP) – Phoenix Suns forward Brian Grant underwent surgery on his right knee Friday and is expected to be out for three months.

The surgery, performed by team physician Tom Carter, repaired the patella tendon and removed bone spurs on Grant’s knee cap.

The 11-year NBA veteran had averaged 3.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 9.4 minutes in nine games with the Suns after signing as a free agent in August.

He saw limited playing time with the Los Angeles Lakers last season because of a neck injury and knee tendinitis.
