LEWISTON – Bertrand V. Nolin, 87, of Heath Lane, Auburn, died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Marshwood Nursing Facility, after a long illness.

He was born Feb. 2, 1918. On Feb. 22, 1941, he married the former Germaine Giasson. Bert worked for United Shoe and later for North Eastern Refrigeration, from which he retired.

He was a member of the Elks. His many talents allowed him to do a variety of different hobbies from tinkering in his garage to making lamps out of old bottles and doing carpentry. Bert enjoyed family outings at Edwards Beach, and looked forward to the holidays when his whole family came together.

He leaves a daughter, Marlene Charpentier and her husband, Gerald, of Lakeland Fla.; four sons, Douglas Nolin of Minot, Michael Nolin and his wife, Candice, of Texas, Daniel Nolin and his wife, Christine, of Auburn, and James Nolin and his wife, Stephanie, of Greene; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Germaine, in January 2005; and a son, Thomas Nolin, in October 1965.
