SOUTH PARIS – Muriel M. Kilgore, 81, of 379 High St., South Paris, died Dec. 16 at Market Square Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Norway on Dec. 2, 1924, the daughter of Albert and Clara Young Payne. She attended school in Norway, worked in the local shoe shop and was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family and summer get-togethers. She coached girl’s summer softball and enjoyed bingo, bird-watching, fishing and bluegrass music.

She is survived by seven sons and two daughters, Gerald D. Jr. and his wife, lona, of South Paris, Dennis and his wife, Jean, of Palm Bay, Fla., Edward of South Paris, Peter and his wife, Sharon, of South Paris, Albert and his wife, Judy, of Nashua, N.H., Ronnie of South Paris, Barry and his wife, Tammy, of South Paris, Sherry Estes of Oxford, and Penny Allen and her husband, Charlie, of South Paris; two brothers and two sisters, Albert Payne Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of South Paris, Terry Payne of Norway, and Beverly Pelleteir and Janice Holmes, both of Norway; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother; father; and sister, Dorothy Ayer.
