LIVERMORE FALLS – An application for a site plan review for a Dunkin’ Donuts fast food restaurant on Main Street has been submitted to the Planning Board.

Lawrence R. Bastian has submitted the application for the doughnut shop, which would be located in the former Skowhegan Savings Bank building, across from Rite Aid, with a parking lot in the next lot that now has a covered over foundation.

The proposal calls for the bank building to be renovated, Livermore Falls Code Enforcement Officer Paula Coombs said Thursday.

There will be 24 seats, 12 tables and one or two tables that would be handicap accessible, she said.

The applicant is working with the Department of Transportation on a traffic study and needs to get approval for cuts in the curbing because the application calls for the driveway to be moved, she said.

The applicant is working to make sure lighting would not be overwhelming for neighbors and there is a lot of landscaping proposed for the site, she said.

If all approvals are granted, Coombs said, it is expected Dunkin’ Donuts would open next summer.

The Planning Board is scheduled to take up review of the application at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the town office.
