FARMINGTON – Smudge is this week’s featured pet at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.

She came to the shelter as a private surrender with a litter of kittens. All her kittens have gone from the shelter into loving homes and now Smudge sits and waits for her chance to go home.

Despite the fact that she was a mother, Smudge still acts like a kitten with boundless energy. She often races about the shelter to pounce on an unsuspecting playmate. Her favorite game is cat and mouse.

Although she has plenty of energy to burn, one of her other favorite thing is to curl up in a warm lap and soak up the attention. Anyone looking for a cat that can keep up with a busy life style during the day, but someone to curl up with while reading a good book should check out Smudge.
