LEWISTON – Plans for a three-story, 150-bed dormitory at the foot of Mount David go to the Planning Board Monday.
Bates College hopes to build the 21,376-square-foot building at the corner of College Street and Mountain Avenue, just north of Rand Hall.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Monday at Lewiston City Hall.
It’s the second part of proposed expansions at Bates College to go to the Planning Board.
Last month, the board approved a $21 million dining hall along Central Avenue. That project also included a 70-space parking lot adjacent to Merrill Gym with access to Campus Avenue.
The dining facility will have a capacity of 1,700 students. The college’s present dining facility in nearby Chase Hall can accommodate only 500 students.
