FRANKLIN, N.H. (AP) – A snowmobiler is safe but his machine isn’t after a crash through the ice Sunday.
Timothy Alberts was riding his snowmobile across the Pemigewasset River when he broke through the ice. He was able to scramble to shore but his snowmobile sank.
Fish and Game Sergeant Brian Suttmeier sid the ice was only about two inches thick.
“The ice conditions are very dangerous,” he said. “You’ve got to be very careful.”
