PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (AP) – Several communities in northeastern New York and northern Vermont were slightly shaken Monday by a minor earthquake.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake measured a 3.7 magnitude and was centered near where the Franklin and Clinton county line meets the Canadian border.
There appeared to be no damage from the quake, felt at 10:35 a.m. in an area stretching from the border south through Chazy, Schuyler Falls, Plattsburgh, Willsboro and across Lake Champlain in Jericho, Vt., near Burlington, and as far east as Waterbury.
Residents said the shaking lasted for some 10 to 15 seconds.
