WINTHROP – Cecile J. Poisson, 89, a longtime resident of Prospect Street in Livermore Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Heritage Rehabilitation and Living Center, where she had lived since November of 2004.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1916, in Farmington, the daughter of David O. and Georgiana Simard Jalbert. She attended grammar school in West Farmington and was a 1933 graduate of Farmington High School.

On Oct. 26, 1936, she married L. Bertrand Poisson in Farmington. He passed away on May 5, 1998. She worked at Ham’s Drug Store in Livermore Falls and at the local doughnut shop.

She was a devoted communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, where she served two terms as regent, a member of the American Legion, George Bunton Post 10 Auxiliary of Livermore Falls and chairman of the Jay-Livermore Falls Senior Citizens.

She is survived by two sons, David Poisson and his wife, Pam, of Farmington and John Poisson, of Livermore Falls; two sisters, Lorraine Whittier, of Farmington and Gloria Callahan, of Farmington; three grandchildren, Dorine Poisson, Cherie Parker and Bert Poisson; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Rene, Roland and John Jalbert; and five sisters, Alice Breton, Louise Nadeau, Beatrice Robinson, Anne Gerrish and Barbara Ouellette.
