AUBURN – Marie B. Evrard, 82, of 11 Patton St., died Thursday, Jan. 12, at her home after a long illness.

She was born in Auburn March 27, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Adele (Therriault) St. Hilaire. She was educated in Auburn schools and was a member of the Auburn community all her life.

She was a member of St. Louis Parish. She owned and operated the Evrard Boarding Home on Patton Street for 20 years from 1968 to 1988, she then ran a day care service from her home for 12 years before retiring due to her health. She enjoyed reading, and most of all, helping people.

She is survived by two sons, Tim and his wife, Debra, of Oxford, Walter Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Auburn; two daughters, Mae Metzler and her husband, Joseph, of Illinois and Bette Mayer and her husband, Tim, of Brunswick; one brother, Roger St. Hilaire, of Auburn; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
