Class meeting

RUMFORD – Stephens High School class of 1946 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at King Wok Restaurant on Congress Street.

Beekeeper school

RUMFORD – The Western Maine Beekeepers Association will hold its annual beekeeping school starting Wednesday, Jan. 18. Registration will be held at 6 p.m. at Mountain Valley High School.

Classes will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays for 12 weeks. Area beekeepers will teach the sessions. The cost of $25 includes books and handouts. Throughout the summer, club members hold open hive meetings to demonstrate the application of the information that was presented in class.

Women to meet

RUMFORD – The women of Stephens High School class of 1948 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the King Wok Restaurant on Congress Street. Call Simonne at 364-3801 if planning to attend.

Acadians to meet

RUMFORD – The Acadian Society of the Rumford-Mexico area will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, downstairs at the St. Athanasius/St. John Church parish center. After the usual potluck supper, members will see a film, “History of the Acadians.”

Wine tasting

RUMFORD – A wine tasting social event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Black Mountain of Maine lodge, featuring Bob Roy with more than 25 years of wine knowledge. Cost is $15 a person in advance or $20 a person at the door. Reservations will be accepted by contacting Sue at 364-4919 or [email protected] or by calling Black Mountain at 364-8977.
