Farm bill meeting

FARMINGTON – Franklin County Farm Bureau will hold an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, downstairs at the Farmington Town Office.

The purpose is to learn more about a bill that is being submitted in the legislative session, which could have an impact on horse owners. If the bill becomes law, some stables would be subject to annual licensing and payment of a fee, which would be based on the number of horses owned. Fees collected would be used to help fund the animal welfare program.

All horse owners and anyone with an interest in horses or the welfare program are welcome. For more information, contact Pam Harnden at 645-2568.
