Lodge to install

AUBURN – A new slate of officers for Ancient Brothers Lodge 178, AF and AM, will be installed at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.,

Richard Provencal will be installed master.

The installation ceremony will be performed by Barry Gates, district deputy grand master, and his installing suite.

The installation will be preceded by a supper at 6:30 p.m. All masons and their wives, Eastern Star members and friends are welcome.

Winter walk

AUBURN – The Auburn Mall will host the 13th annual Winter Walk Against Violence from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4.

The walk is the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project’s major annual fundraiser.

In 2004-2005, the project provided services to 2,119 men, women and children in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties.

Seniors trip

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Seniors are planning a trip to Andy Cooney’s “Forever Irish Tour” on Monday, March 13. The trip includes dinner and features the comedy and songs of Ireland duo, Mac and O, the Andy Cooney Band and World Class Irish Dancing. Cost is $64.

The Seniors will also sponsor a trip to Lac Megantic, Quebec, Canada, for a sugar party on March 29. A full meal with live music is included. Cost is $35.

A trip to the Cumberland County Civic Center is scheduled for April 13 to see Stars on Ice. Cost is $48.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Jan. 23 were: first, Rosemarie Goodwin and Tom Boyer; second, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; third, first in B and C, Alllie Boyer and Barbara Beegel; fourth, second in B and C, Marlene and Conrad Violette; third in B, Janice Wolfe and Roger Briggs.

Games are played every Monday at 9 a.m., a mini-lesson is given, and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 783-1734 for information about all bridge games.

Bridge club

NEW GLOUCESTER – The New Gloucester Bridge Club met Jan. 22 at the Masonic Hall where a 3 table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first were Betty and Doug Sise in Flights A and B; Marta Clements and Janice Wolfe, second in both; Linda Leotsakos and Audrey Burns, third.

Another game will be held Sunday, Jan. 29. All bridge players are welcome. A partner is guaranteed. For information, call Les Buzzell at 754-9153.
