CANTON, N.J. – Alberta “Debbie” B. Clour, (nee Bowie), 68, of Canton, N.J., went to be with the Lord on Jan. 24. She was at home and surrounded by her family.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1937, in Durham. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Verna Crockett Bowie.
She began her 45-year nursing career in 1957 as a registered nurse.
She had a distinguished career that included serving as director of nursing at Salem County Memorial Hospital and the attainment of her master’s degree from Widener University.
She was a member of the Canton United Methodist Church. She loved baking and cooking, sewing and doing crafts and enjoyed the company of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Everett L. Clour; daughter, Cheryl L. Franklin and two sons, Kevin S. Clour and Randy L. Clour, all of Canton; brother, Calvin Bowie, of Auburn; sister, Cynthia Hunnewell, of Durham; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
