AUBURN – Henry J. Bedard, 90, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Clover Health Care Facility.

He was born in Auburn on April 2, 1915, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Lefebvre) Bedard.

On June 1, 1935, he married Jeannette Nadeau at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston. He was employed for many years at the Continental Mill in Lewiston and retired from Globe Albany, Auburn.

He was a gentle soul and loved to create things with his hands. Never an idle person, he always had a project going. He was a talented artist, built many ship models and fashioned countless fishing lures.

He especially loved working with wood and metal. Playing pool was one of his favorite pastimes. There was nothing he enjoyed more, however, than fishing and being out in the woods. He had a special rapport with animals, and they responded in kind. Above all, he was a devoted husband and a wonderful father.

He is survived by his wife and companion of 70 years, Jeannette; his daughter, Constance and son-in-law, Edward Wall, of Lisbon; a granddaughter, Christine Wall-Lacombe, of Lisbon; a grandson, Edward Wall II and his companion, Karen Weber, of Lisbon; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn Lacombe, Richard Lacombe, Jacob Wall and Tyler Wall; a sister, Lucienne Poliquin; and a brother, Raymond Bedard.

He was predeceased by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
