LEWISTON – Marguerite P. Levasseur, 84, of Stetson Road, Auburn, died Sunday morning, Jan. 29, at d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born in Lewiston on April 19, 1921, the daughter of Edward J. and Ellen Nellie (Fahey) Fitzgerald. She attended Lewiston schools and was a graduate of Lewiston High School. She later graduated from the Auburn School of Commerce.

She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Advance Heel Co. and later for Hahnel Brothers.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.

She loved making ceramics, going out to eat and swimming at the health club.

Marguerite was one great Irish lady who loved life to the fullest. Her life was full because of the interest she had in people. She knew everyone and was loved by everyone. She had a variety of interests that gave her the opportunity to meet more people. She always made it a point to keep in touch with friends over the years.

Marguerite’s family came from far and wide to be with her one last time. She enjoyed nothing more than a chance for the whole family to gather, especially at Christmas. Her family meant everything to her, and she loved being with her grandchildren. She was an interested and loving presence in the lives of all who knew her and will continue to live in the memories and hearts of those she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Levasseur, whom she married on May 9, 1969; her daughters, Carole Case and Kathy Aube and her husband, Norm, all of Lewiston; her son, Daniel Meara of Florida; her stepson, Daniel Levasseur of Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her grandson, David Meara; a great-grandson, Jerrod Case; son-in-law, Walter Case Sr.; and daughter-in-law, Kay Meara.
