FARMINGTON – Kari Simpson tied her career-high scoring mark of 28 points Thursday as the University of Maine at Farmington powered past St. Joseph’s 84-46 in womens’ basketball action.
Karen Sirois chipped in for the Beavers (15-3) with 12 points, while Amanda Byrne and Erin Porter added seven each.
The Monks (7-11) were paced by Marie Lint with 12 points, while Kaylin Regula tallied 10.
Bates 78, Plymouth St. 55
LEWISTON – Bryan Wholey scored a career-high 24 points, 22 of them in the second half, as Bates College pulled away from Plymouth State University 78-55 Thursday night, completeing the Bobcats’ first-ever unbeaten season at home.
Sean Cahill scored 14 points, while Pat Holloran added 13 for the Bobcats (19-2) win.
Zak Ray contributed a game-high nine assists and three steals.
Kevin Boutilier led Plymouth State (13-7) with 16 points and six rebounds. Mike Walcek added 10 points.
