LEWISTON – The second annual Valentine’s Day father-daughter dance to benefit the National Kidney Foundation is planned from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Carriage House, 1119 Lisbon St.

The cost is $35 per father-daughter couple and $5 for each additional daughter. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling (800) 639-7220 or can be purchased at the door the night of the event.

Music will be provided by Dionne Entertainment and photos provided by Bell Photographic. Light refreshments will be available, and gifts will be provided to each daughter who attends.

The foundation’s mission is to prevent kidney and urinary tract disease, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability to all organs for transplantation.

Last year, the National Foundation of Maine foundation provided about $63,000 in direct patient assistance.

It also holds kidney early evaluation program screenings to identify and educate people at risk of developing kidney disease. These are free and open to the public.

To obtain more information on the screenings, people can go to www.kidneyme.org or call 772-7270 and ask for Michelle.
