LEWISTON – Augusta “Auggie” L. Boudreau, 88, of Oak Park, died unexpectedly Monday morning, Feb. 6, at Central Maine Medical Center with her family at her side.

She was born in Augusta, April 21, 1917, a daughter of Esdras and Georgiana (Prevost) Larrivee. She was educated in Lewiston and Brooklyn, N.Y., schools and was a resident of this area for the past 50 years.

Prior to settling in this community, she lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., for six years which is when she was crowned Miss Coney Island in 1937. On Feb. 14, 1946, she married Yvon Boudreau at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. He passed away June 22, 1972.

She first worked as a cake decorator at Fortier’s Bakery in Lewiston and then at Gagnon’s Bakery, also in Lewiston, until her children were born at which time she stayed at home to be a homemaker and take care of her family.

She was a very talented lady with great artistic ability. She could draw and sketch, and was a wonderful cake decorator. She also enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds and sewing. She made crafts for local schools that were given out to the students for achievement recognition.

Auggie was always very involved in her children’s lives, even as they became adults. She made arts and crafts for the Lewiston Head Start program when her sister Nancy was a volunteer grandmother for them, for the children at Holy Cross School, and for the students in her daughter Janet’s special education classes. She even made props and other items for her son Ivan as he visited and entertained residents at local nursing homes.

She enjoyed being a volunteer and did so in many ways for many years. She was very giving of herself to everyone, family and friends.

She leaves two daughters, Pauline Stanat and husband, John, of Broad Brook, Conn. and Janet Rodd and husband, Don, of Wayland, Mass.; three sons, Ivan Boudreau and wife, Linda, of Lewiston, Paul Boudreau and wife, Liette, of Litchfield and Dennis Boudreau and wife, Linda, of Greene; 11 grandchildren, Michael Boudreau and wife, Mary Beth, Ann Boudreau, Rick Boudreau, Benjamin Boudreau and fiancee, Kristin, Jacquelyn Coghlan and husband, Gregory, Jennifer McGinley and companion, Leon Coutu, Julie McGinley, Emily Rodd, Elizabeth Rodd, Alicia Boudreau and fiance, Kevin Hunter and Nicholas Boudreau; six great-grandchildren, Ellie, Kaylyn, Kallie, Danny, Margaret and Gregory Jr.; her very close and dear sister, Fran Poussard of Lewiston; a sister-in-law, Sister Geraldine Boudreau of Lewiston; several sisters and brothers-in-law; a godchild and niece, Georgette Miller of Greene; many nieces, nephews and friends; and a special friend, Johnnie at Oak Park who was always there to give her a helping hand and assist in her daily needs.

She was predeceased by seven sisters, Irene Coulombe, Blanche Carrier, Ruth LeCompte, Rita Bates, Charlotte Laliberte, Nancy Weston and Mary Jane Larrivee; and four brothers, Rene, Elphege, Gilbert and Lawrence Larrivee.
