Lewiston – Rosario A. Bussiere, 92, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Feb. 5, at d’Youville Pavilion with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston, on Jan. 12, 1914, a son of the late Alfred and Alfreda (Dulac) Bussiere.

He attended local Lewiston schools, and later went on to work his own milk route, he owned and operated a grocery store in New Auburn until 1955; and then also owned and operated the Northwood Park IGA for over 20 years until his retirement in 1975.

He was an active member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Auburn, there he was a eucharistic minister, and was involved in many different activities. His life’s focus was in the church after his retirement. There he was a very familiar face, and to all was known as “Mr. B.”

He also enjoyed woodworking and was very talented at it; he also had a great love for animals, especially horses, once he had 12 racehorses himself. His greatest love and joy in his life was his family, spending time with his wife and greatly enjoyed their winter trips to Florida. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lewiston Exchange Club and the New Auburn Seniors.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gertrude (Poirier) Bussiere, whom he married on June 10, 1940; a daughter, Claire Cloutier and husband, Maurice of Greene, two sons, Paul R. Bussiere and wife, Linda, of Greene, Albert Bussiere and wife, Patricia, of Auburn, his six grandchildren, Susan Lyons and husband, Kevin, of Greene, Claude Cloutier and wife, Michelle, of Greene, Michael Cloutier and wife, Melissa, of Greene, Anthony Bussiere and companion, Lisa, of Greene, Mikie Wilbur and companion, Harry, of Greene and Eric Palmer of Oxford; 11 great-grandchildren, Belinda, Daniela, and Dillon Lyons, Taylor, Avrie, Cameron, Scott, and Brittney Cloutier, Katie, Benjamin, and Sophie Wilbur; two sisters, Catherine Lupardo, and Loretta Rainville; two brothers, Gerard and Bertrand Bussiere; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Lucienne Mitchell; and two brothers, Ovila and Robert Bussiere.
