LEWISTON – Franklin K. Blanchard, 90, of Lewiston, died Friday evening, Feb. 17, at Marshwood Health Care Facility.

He was born in Lewiston, June 11, 1915, a son of Willis K. and Grace V. Tapley Blanchard. He attended Lewiston schools, graduating in 1933 from Lewiston High School.

He worked in local mills and was a power station operator for Continental Mill for many years. He was also employed at Raytheon Electric, General Electric and JC Penney Co. He spent most of his later adult years working in the electrical trade.

He was a Scout leader, past master of Ashlar Lodge of Auburn and a member of Androscoggin Fish and Game Assn.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, reading and especially watching the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Lewis of Auburn; a brother, Richard L. and his wife, Shirley, of Lewiston; two granddaughters, Jamie Pratt of Auburn and Lisa Thrasher of Lisbon Falls; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
