Benefit supper

FARMINGTON – A spaghetti supper for Melissa Yeaton, who is recovering from surgery, will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 10, at Titcomb Mountain. The menu will include spaghetti, salad, rolls, brownies/ice cream and beverage. Cost is adults, $6; children under 10, $3.

Society speaker

FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Valley Chapter of Maine Genealogical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Farmington Public Library. Cheryl Patten will talk about a 1880 special census: “Dependent, Defective and Delinquent.” Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome.

St. Pat’s supper

SALEM – Salem’s annual St. Patty’s traditional corned beef and cabbage supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Salem Community Building. The event is sponsored by the Salem Fire Department Auxiliary and the Salem United Methodist Church.

Square dance

WILTON – Friendship Squares Square Dance Club will hold a square dance at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at Cushing School. The caller and cuer will be husband and wife duo, Skip and Betty Brown.

Food needed

TEMPLE – Temple residents are invited to bring needed items for the Fairbanks Food Pantry when they attend the annual town meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the town hall. Items particularly needed are nonperishables such as canned tuna, vegetables, fruit, juice as well as paper towels, diapers, dish and laundry detergents and bar soap. Boxed spaghetti, macaroni and other types of dry pasta are also needed. For more information, call 778-0179.

Committee agenda

FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Democratic Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 12, in the Mabel Hasty Lounge, Ricker Hall, University of Maine at Farmington. The executive committee will meet at 4 p.m. Agenda items will include reports, discussion of campaigns, fundraising and recent caucuses.

Country music

SALEM – A&E Hill Country Music will return to perform county/bluegrass music at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at the Salem Community Building. This event is sponsored by the Salem Pine Tree Club. For more information, call 678-2874.

GOP caucus

WILTON – Howard Bickford, Wilton Republican Committee chairman, has issued an invitation to all registered local Republicans to caucus at 7 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the Wilton Town Office.

Registered voters enrolled in the Republican Party will elect delegates and alternates to the state convention on May 5 and 6 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Other business will include organization of the local committee and nomination of members to the Franklin County Republican Committee. All local Republicans are invited.
