LIVERMORE FALLS – The annual meeting of the Livermore Falls Library Association was held March 2 at the library. President Roger Ouellette presided with eight members present.

Library Director Francena Goodine gave a report and noted that the new library hours have been positively received by the public. She also thanked the volunteers who helped during the year and reported how the library has collected and shipped five boxes of new and gently used books for Project Katrina.

After months of preparation, she said, the library is almost ready to join SOLAR, a program that will give patrons the opportunity to access not only their catalog records but also the catalogs of other libraries in the system. Then the patrons may request the desired books through the library on their own computers.

Re-elected as trustees for three-year terms were Pat Allen, Roger Ouellette and John Wade.

Diane Maurais and her Job Club students are cleaning the library twice a week, and a girl from Farmington helps with the cleaning once a week.

It was reported that the library is listed in the Verizon telephone directory under Treat Memorial Library. The phone number is 897-3631.

Now that the library is fully computerized, the library director was authorized to offer card files that are no longer needed to another small library. The three computer monitors that are not being used will be placed in the used book sale, which will probably be held sometime this summer.
