SABATTUS – Alleged violations of the town’s entertainment permit may result in a bar losing its liquor license.

Police Lt. Carl Foster told selectmen Tuesday that Mixer’s has been cited for a handful of violations. He said in addition to serving visibly intoxicated people, “police calls have been made to transport intoxicated people home and intoxicated parking-lot attendants have been working. It’s an every-week issue,” he told the board.

The Police Department supplied a report to selectmen and requested that a public hearing be held on the matter.

The board agreed to send a notice to Mixer’s owner Randy Greenwood notifying him of the alleged violations that may result in the loss of a liquor license.

“I have sat down with him on several occasions,” police Chief Thomas Fales Jr. said. “I wouldn’t have brought this to (the board) if I wasn’t concerned.”

Town counsel will review the current ordinance and see what ramifications may result if the town moves forward on the issue.
