FARMINGTON – Lucile Tuscan Schanz of Farmington, died Thursday, March 30, at Edgewood Rehab and Living Center.

She was born in Solon, March 18, 1921, a daughter of Willey R. and Marion (Whipple) Tuscan. She was a graduate of Solon High School and Augusta School of Beauty.

In 1939, she came to Farmington and worked at Emile’s Beauty Salon. In 1942, she married Horace H. Schanz Jr., who died in 1999.

She was a member of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church and the Red Schoolhouse Extension.

Survivors include two sisters, Emily Later of Greenville and Mary McAllister of Skowhegan; her children, are Betsy Graboyes of Bingham, Lee Schanz and his wife, Cheryl, of Cornville, Gene Schanz and his wife, JoAnn, of Temple, Tim Schanz of Farmington, Duane Schanz and his wife, Pamela, of New Vineyard, Cindy Hinds of New Vineyard and Susan Brackett and her husband, Doug, of Temple; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a foster granddaughter, Julie Newell with four children of New Vineyard; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Linwood Tuscan, in 2003.
