SOUTH PARIS – The Oxford Hills Youth Wrestling Team brought home 12 medals at the season-ending New England Wrestling Tournament held last weekend at Portland.

Derek Kenney gained top honors in his division. He is a second-grader at the Guy E. Rowe School in Norway. He was unable to compete in the recent state tourney due to a broken finger. Also claiming a New England crown was Dalton Rice, a fourth-grader from Waterford Memorial School. It was his second NE title. He also owns the state championship.

Earning runner-up honors were Kyle Dexter, a second-grader at the Fox School; Cordell Brooks, a third-grader from West Paris School; Jaden David, a 4-year-old pre-schooler from Harrison; and Ben Rowe, a second-grader from Rowe School.

Finishing third were Kaden Cutler, a member of the kindergarten class at Harrison School; Matt Jones and Jared Santos, both sixth-graders from West Paris School; and Kacey McAllister, the team’s only female member and a sixth-grader at Oxford School.

Placing fourth were Logan Truman, a second-grader from Fox School, and Austin Chute, a sixth-grader from Oxford School.

Other competitors at the New England event were Dylan Aspinall, Curtis Chandler, Tommy Christman, Jordan Chute, Justin David, Jake Kimball, Josh Kimball.

The coaches were Sheldon Rice, Wayne Aspinall, Albert Brooks, Sean Cutler, Brendon David, Shawn Dexter and Todd Truman.

The team finished with 136 medals.
