PORTLAND – Greg A. Mitchell of Eaton Peabody Consulting Group and John Edwards of Bangor Savings Bank have been elected directors for the Maine Real Estate and Development Association board.

Mitchell, former economic development director for Lewiston, has more than 20 years of experience working with municipalities and businesses to support community economic growth. His experience includes structuring public-private partnerships to leverage local, regional, state and federal business assistance programs, designing public infrastructure projects to support industrial park and commercial development, developing business retention, and expansion and attraction programs.

Edwards joined Bangor Savings Bank as senior vice president/senior lender. He has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of commercial banking roles including small business, commercial real estate, middle market lending and problem loan workout. He began his banking career with Casco Bank and Trust Company in Portland and has since held various positions at several financial institutions in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
