AUGUSTA – Child Care Options-Resource Development Center serving Kennebec and Somerset counties has announced it will join other child care organizations nationwide in recognizing child care providers.

National and local efforts are under way to ask child care organizations, public officials and parents to honor their child care providers for their work and dedication to children. Child Care Options is inviting all child care providers in Kennebec and Somerset counties to an evening out.

They will host a “Provider Appreciation” evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, at the Skowhegan Community Center and Wednesday, May 10. at the Augusta Armory. Dinner will be served and there will be a special presentation by Judy Castle of Dynamic Interactions. For more information, call 626-3617, ext. 25.

In recent years, local governments across the country have joined many governors in proclaiming the day of recognition.

Child Care Options is encouraging parents with children in child care to take the day on May 12 to show their child care provider how much they appreciate them.
