PORTLAND – Curtis L. Swisher, 63, of Auburn, passed away on April 23, at Maine Medical Center.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1942, in Pennsylvania, the son of Norman and Alice (Cochran) Swisher and was educated in Pennsylvania schools, graduating in 1961.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He moved to Maine in 1966, working in construction and later for Carter Milling Co. for 14 years and retired from Lapointe Industries in 2003.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Swisher of Auburn; son, Richard Swisher of West Virginia; daughter, Patti Deburra of Poland; granddaughters, Dezaray, Kelsey and Crista Deburra; grandson, William Swisher; brothers, Fred Swisher of Patton, George Swisher of Montana, John Earl of Utah and Kenneth Swisher of Montana; sisters, Grethen Gers of Virginia and Catherine Lallemand of Pennsylvania; stepchildren, Marianne Kimball, Ralph Kimball and Frank Kimball; step-grandchildren, Zack, Tyler, Tabatha, Spencer Kimball, Shane Arthur; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his ex-wife, Shirley (Fisher); brother, Norman; and sisters, Betty Davis, Louise Gers and Joann Bosar.
