Lewiston – Shirley M. Trafton, 72, of Meadow View Park, died Monday, April 24, at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Val David, Quebec on July 2, 1933, a daughter of William and Jessie (Niddrie) Eaton. She worked for many years at Fleet Bank as a check encoder. She was an active member in the YWCA and a volunteer for the Iris Network, where she worked at the career center assisting those with visual impairments.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a sunbather, beach walker; a remarkable seamstress, enjoyed knitting, and most notably was an avid Red Sox baseball fan.

She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda L. Trafton-Bell and husband, Bruce, of Litchfield, Sylvia A. Morin and husband, Larry, of Lewiston and Debra L. Tafton-White and husband, Chandler, of Auburn; her two sisters, Jessie Mc Cleod of Quebec and Margaret Geoghegan of Bristish Columbia; and two grandchildren, Amanda M. Bryant and Bryce E. Bryant Jr. both of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, William Eaton.
