LISBON – Emily Moore hurled five innings of four-hit softball and received strong support at the plate as Lisbon powered past Mountain Valley 16-3 in MVC softball action Wednesday.

Kristen Laffeley led the Greyhounds (4-0) with two hits and two RBIs, while Sam Purcell, Soleil Matheiu and Erica Merritt added two hits each and combined for three RBIs.

Gardiner 6, Lewiston 4

LEWISTON – Becky Dixon and Chris Striker each had two hits as Gardiner topped Lewiston 6-4 in what proved to be a hard-fought KVAC softball matchup Wednesday afternoon.

The contest was tied, 4-4, until the seventh inning, when the Tigers (2-1) knocked in two runs to lift the score and capture the win at 6-4.

The Devil (2-1) effort was led by Danielle Willey with a triple, and Allie Morin with an RBI double.

Livermore Falls 15, Madison 8

MADISON – Erica Gats smacked a three-run triple in the fifth inning to lead Livermore Falls to a 15-8 win over Madison in a Wednesday afternoon softball contest.

The Andies (3-1) broke away from a 4-4 tie in the fifth inning with a commanding nine runs. Katie Warren contributed three hits for the win.

Madison (1-1) was led by Hannah Seamans with a double and two RBIs, and by Jess Hayden with a double.

Oak Hill 14, Waterville 2

WALES – Pitcher Danni Potvin led all players with two hits and five RBIs, while on the mound giving up only four hits and two runs, to lead Oak Hill to a 14-2 victory over Waterville Wednesday.

Potvin smacked a three-run triple for the Raiders (2-1). Kristan Eaton added a two-run homer, while finishing the contest with three hits and four RBIs.

Other noteable players include Angie Russell with three hits and an RBI, and Shannon Bafford with two hits and two RBIs.

Kaitlyn Rodrigue hit a double for Waterville (0-3).

EL 3, Mt. Blue 2

AUBURN – Kim Lawrence was strong on the mound, fanning six batters and giving up only two hits, as Edward Little slipped past Mt. Blue to a 3-2 win Wednesday in softball action.

Alyssa Levesque contributed two hits and an RBI for the Eddies (1-3).

The Cougar (0-4) effort was led by Amelia Allen who had both of Mt. Blue’s hits.

Georges Valley 8, Hall-Dale 7

THOMASTON – Chelsea Eugley scored the game-winning run from second in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Georges Valley to an 8-7 triumph over Hall-Dale.

Freshman Liz Hall started things off for Georges Valley, smacking a homer in the first. She would later hit a double for the winning Buccaneers (2-0). Ashley Geel contributed a triple.

Julia Nytray struck out nine batters and had three hits in the loss for Hall-Dale (0-3).

Oxford Hills 16, Morse 4

SOUTH PARIS – Sammy Dolloff hurled five innings of four-hit softball and got plenty of support at the plate as Oxford Hills rolled to a 16-4 victory over Morse.

Molly Dow led the Vikings (4-0) with an RBI home run, while Tia Pratt and Mindy Rugg contributed with doubles.

The Shipbuilders (1-2) put all four of their runs on the board in the fourth inning. Jill Henrikson handled pitching duties and was saddled with the loss.

Buckfield 10, NYA 1

BUCKFIELD – Desire Brackett allowed just one hit in seven innings of work Wednesday as Buckfield overwhelmed North Yarmouth Academy 10-1 in softball action.

Kayla Jordan led the Bucks (1-0) with a two-run triple, while Casey Farrington and Alyssa Henderson added doubles. NYA (1-2) put its one run on the board in the fourth inning, preventing a shutout. Katie Knight handled pitching duties and took the loss.

Lacrosse

Oxford Hills 11, Lewiston 9

LEWISTON – Meredith Viera scored a team-high five goals to lead Oxford Hills to an 11-9 victory over Lewiston in a girls’ lacrosse matchup.

Kari Pelletier added four goals, while Jaime Brett chipped in with a pair of goals for the Vikings (3-1).

Mallory Long led all Lewiston players with five goals. Kelsey Rodrigue scored three goals and Amie Daniels also scored for Lewiston (2-2).

Hebron 6, Gould 5

BETHEL – Taylor Fey led the Hebron scoring effort with three second-half goals, including the game-winner with only two minutes left, to top Gould 6-5 in lacrosse action.

Maddie Campbell, Jill MacIsaac, and KJ Forand rounded out the scoring effort with one goal apiece.

The Gould effort was paced by Molly Fitzgerald with four goals.

Maddie Gave notched one goal.
