Seniors lunch

MONMOUTH – The Golden Years Club will meet Wednesday, May 3, at the Packard Activity Center for a potluck noon luncheon. Following lunch, discussion will be held concerning possible summer excursions. All senior citizens are welcome.

Bridge results

NEW GLOUCESTER – The New Gloucester Bridge Club met April 30 at the Masonic Building, intersection of Routes 100 and 231.

Finishing first in Flight A and B were Linda Leotsakos and Audrey Burns; second, Nancy Lindgren and Richard Balian; third, Sally Johnston and Pat Schlegel. Finishing second in Flight B were Sally Johnston and Pat Schlegel with Barbara and Paul Beegel.

There will another game May 4. A partner is guaranteed, and all bridge players are welcome. On May 21 and 28 there will be no games. May 21 there will be a sectional tournament in Camden; May 28 is Memorial Day weekend.

Lodges to meet

AUBURN – There will be a meeting of the Lewiston Lodge of Perfection, Auburn Council of Jerusalem and the H.H. Dickey Chapter of Rose Croix at 7 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the Auburn Masonic Hall. The meeting is for all members of the valley. Refreshments will be served after the meeting.

VFW officers

LISBON – Officers of VFW Post 9459 and Auxiliary will be installed at 7 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the post home, Route 196. A meal of ham, potatoes, veggies, biscuits, desserts, coffee or tea will be available from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Scrabble meeting

AUBURN – The Scrabble Club, open to all enthusiasts of the game, will meet at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at the Auburn Police Station conference room. For more information, call Club Director Sharon Hawkes at 344-0026.

Legion to elect

AUBURN – American Legion Post 31 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 8, at the post home, 426 Washington St. Door will open at 6. Topics will include election of officers and plans for the June 12 installation of officers. Members are asked to attend; veterans and active military personnel are invited. Adoption meeting

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Office of the Department of Health and Human Services will host a public informational meeting about adoption and foster care at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, for all interested people. For location, contact A Family For ME at 877-505-0545.

Those considering adoption or foster care through the Maine Department of Health and Human Services are invited to attend.
