LEWISTON – Douglas Taylor, ministry director of the Pentecostal Kids’ Church, The Jesus Party, invites children ages 5 and older to participate in this year’s National Day of Prayer to be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at the Jesus Party Headquarters, 291 Bates St.

The nationwide event is celebrating its 55th year, with this year’s theme being “America Honor God.” Children will have the opportunity to experience prayer, patriotism and pizza. Prayer will be offered on behalf of all the children’s homes, neighborhoods, schools and communities.

The street names that are to be prayed for were selected by the children according to their residence. They are: Lewiston: Knox, Bates, Blake, Pierce, Bartlett, Horton, Pine, Birch, Shawmut, College and West Brule streets; Auburn: Webster and Main streets.

The schools represented will be Montello, James B. Longley and Lewiston Middle schools, Lewiston High School, Androscoggin Head Start, Sherwood Heights and Auburn Middle schools, Edward Little High School and RETC.

Any child wishing to add a street or school may do so at the beginning of the prayer. For more information, call 786-5568.
